Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Department of Communication in the College of Arts and Humanities at the University of Maryland-College Park invites applications for part-time or full-time lecturer positions in Communication Science for the 2021-2022 academic year. The starting date for these positions is August 2, 2021.

Position Summary
Candidates should demonstrate an ability to teach undergraduate courses in communication science, communication theory, health communication, risk communication, quantitative methods, media effects, and media campaigns. Higher education teaching experience is required. Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree in Communication, Mass Communication, or a related field at the time of appointment. Ph.D. candidates and Ph.D. recipients are encouraged to apply.

About the Department/University
The Department of Communication offers B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees in Communication and an M.P.S. degree in Interpreting or Translation. The undergraduate communication major is one of largest majors on campus and the largest within the College of Arts and Humanities. This position would support an undergraduate area of specialization in Health and Science Communication.
