Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Fischell Department of Bioengineering at the University of Maryland, College Park invites applications for multiple tenured faculty positions through a new partnership with the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) located in Baltimore, Maryland. Through this partnership, the Fischell Department of Bioengineering will be expanding its presence and activity on the UMSOM Baltimore campus in a comprehensive effort spanning education, research, and translation. To support these endeavors, additional tenured faculty are being recruited and will be provided laboratory space at UMSOM to establish an interdisciplinary research program, utilizing resources and benefiting from direct engagement with clinical collaborators at UMSOM. Outstanding candidates will be considered at the rank of Associate or Full Professor across all areas of bioengineering. We seek individuals who have demonstrated the ability to lead a highly innovative research program as well as a commitment to excellence in graduate and undergraduate education. The department believes that diversity and inclusivity enhance our mission to educate and empower the next generation of bioengineers to translate knowledge and develop technology to address societal grand challenges.

- Ph.D. or equivalent in engineering, biology, biochemistry, biomedicine, or a closely related field.
Preferences:
- Candidates should be established investigators with a strong record of funding (e.g. DoD, NIH, NSF grant support), peer-reviewed publications, and technical leadership.
- Successful candidates will be expected to continue propelling the department forward in impact and visibility through research, translation, education, outreach, and service.
