Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette (PPCW) is hiring a Chief Financial Officer to join our Executive Leadership team.

PPCW is the largest non-profit family planning and reproductive rights organization in Oregon and Southwest Washington.

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of PPCW’s Executive team, reporting directly to the CEO. This role provides financial and administrative leadership, ensuring the organization has the necessary controls, reporting procedures, and systems to maintain and grow effectively. They combine strategic vision with hands-on expertise to build and maintain highly functional and sustainable teams. The CFO will partner with other executives to ensure the financial strength and efficiency of the organization. They also oversee the operation of multiple departments, including Finance and Revenue Cycle, Legal and Compliance, Facilities and Security, IT, and Informatics. Additionally, the CFO works with the CEO and Board to vision, create, and implement PPCW's Strategic Plan.

Compensation: $175,000 - $195,000 depending on experience.

Position Details: This is a non-represented, exempt position. This role will require a combination of in-person work at our administrative offices in Northeast Portland, OR and remote work as needed, with flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, finance & accounting, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8-10 years of progressively increasing responsibility in finance and/or accounting, including at least five years in a senior role and demonstrated success in leading, mentoring, coaching, and developing team members.
  • Demonstrated competency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to travel and attend in-person meetings as requested, work a combination of in-person and remote as the position requires, and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in both for-profit and non-profit organizations, preferably in healthcare industry.
  • Licensed CPA.
  • Experience working on issues affecting communities most impacted by health inequities, including but not limited to Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, immigrants, refugees, people living in rural areas, and people with disabilities.
  • Lived experience and a deep understanding of health inequities, racial injustice, reproductive justice, gender-affirming care, and the impacts of social determinants of health.
 
Essential Functions

Executive Management:
  • Collaborates with the CEO to implement the organization's vision sustainably.
  • Participates in Board and subcommittee meetings, providing executive summaries to the Board of Directors and CEO on various departments, activities, KPIs, strategic goals, and financials.
  • Oversees the annual budgeting process.
  • Provides leadership in the creation of the new Strategic Plan.
  • Partners with executive team members to ensure they have the necessary tools and staffing to manage their responsibilities and achieve their goals successfully.
  • Oversees, guides, and directly manages the departmental VPs and functional Directors who report directly to the role.
  • Coordinates ongoing projects and administrative functions across departments and geographical areas.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors KPIs that provide the management team with timely, relevant information for organizational management.
  • Monitors and oversees budgets, financial reporting processes, and external financial audits.
  • Provides leadership, oversight, and direction to functional areas including Finance/Accounting, Revenue Cycle, Legal and Compliance, Facilities and Security, IT, Informatics, and other administrative or support departments as delegated by the CEO.
  • Delivers strategic and day-to-day leadership and management aligned with the organization's mission and core values.
  • Ensures timely, accurate, and complete financial reporting on the agency's operating condition in accordance with GAAP.
  • Motivates and leads a high-performance management team; attracts, recruits, and helps retain highly competent and engaged employees and managers.
  • Implements effective internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets and prevent fraud.
  • Coordinates and leads payer contract analysis and negotiation.
  • Manages treasury processes and cash flow to ensure financial stability and ability to meet obligations.
  • Ensures departmental adherence to affiliate policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Leads, trains, and coordinates awareness of compliance issues and regulatory procedures.
  • Monitors relevant regulatory policies and laws, reporting internally and providing recommendations.
  • Prepares, organizes, and maintains compliance records, files, and documentation.
  • Acts as liaison with the corporate insurance broker, excluding malpractice (E&O, Property, etc.).
  • And other duties as assigned.
