Position Summary:

LCE is looking for a driven Execution Project Manager to join our team in San Diego, CA. As an Execution Project Manager you will be responsible for the day to day planning, operation, and management of waterfront Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Planned Maintenance Availabilities (PMAV) projects supported by Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC). As the Execution Project Manager, you will also be responsible for recruitment and onboarding of new employees, delegating maintenance execution tasks, and managing the maintenance team. You will interface with the Program Manager (PM), Government personnel, shipboard naval personnel, LCE leadership, and corporate support functions to ensure LCS PMAV projects are managed on time and to budget while employee issues are addressed.


Clearance Required:
  • Must be a US citizen with an active DoD Secret security clearance

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Develop work packages for LCS PMAVs with regard to manning, funding, services, OEMs, and vendors
  • Ensure LCS PMAVs are executed within budget, completed on time, and maintain and grow client engagement through a collaborative partnership approach, consistently demonstrating LCE expertise and service orientation to achieve client/contract goals and obligations
  • Forecasts and develop job requirements and scope of work to include estimates for personnel, time, travel, material, etc. necessary to achieve project deliverables in support of the PM
  • Work closely with the PM on budget development for the program, managing the budget estimates and contract expectations, and managing the preparation of task statements and financial reporting
  • Ensure a professional and positive work atmosphere in support of employee engagement in both project and company goals, and personal development opportunities
  • Communicate closely and constantly with the PM, employees, other LCE leadership, and client representatives to ensure alignment of project efforts and focus; providing an important communication link between LCE and project employees with regards to company goals, priorities, policies, and procedures
  • Plan for and attend all project-related and internal business meetings with the PM, i.e. client reviews, operations meetings, recruiting meetings, etc.; may represent the PM in some meetings
  • Proactively monitor client service delivery and raise service level concerns and opportunities to the PM and other appropriate leadership personnel
  • Works closely with the recruiting team to identify and onboard project talent; communicate anticipated talent needs on a regular basis to ensure appropriate planning and availability of talent when needed
  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure timely and proper employee timekeeping and expense report processing
  • Ensure personal compliance to company and contractual guidelines as specified, with particular care given to safe work practices
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or requested
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • 10+ years' experience working for a Department of Defense contractor, at least 2 years in a team lead or management capacity
  • Previous Navy shipboard preventive maintenance experience
  • LCS preventative maintenance experience preferred
  • Must have experience managing teams
  • Professional oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as a team player and demonstrate personal initiative to complete the work of the team as a whole
  • Must be sensitive to the professional expectations of the business, ensuring a positive impression for all stakeholders
  • Must be highly reliable and capable of meeting work schedule consistently

Physical Demands and Expectations:
  • Regular physical activity onboard ship and office to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 25 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Access, Word and Excel
  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
  • Up to 10% travel may be required
