Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Employer Relations, the Internship Program Coordinator serves as a key member of the University’s Career Center team, responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with local and national employers to create meaningful career development and internship opportunities for students.

 

This role focuses on conducting outreach to expand the University’s employer network, facilitate partnerships, and coordinates recruitment activities, such as site visits, employer panels, and on-campus recruiting events.

 

Occasional evening and weekend work required for Career Center programs and events.

 

Essential Functions        

  • Prospects, identifies, and cultivates new employer partnerships to create internship and experiential learning opportunities for students.
  • Maintains and strengthen relationships with existing employers and industry contacts to ensure ongoing support for university recruitment initiatives.
  • Organizes and manages events aimed at connecting students with internship opportunities, including employer site visits and on-campus recruitment.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for employers seeking to hire interns, providing guidance on recruitment strategies and university resources.
  • Partners with Alumni Relations Specialist to foster relationships with alumni to support recruitment efforts and offer mentorship opportunities.
  • Works with university partners to collect and report internships, faculty led research and experiential learning opportunities.

Management Responsibilities  

Guides work of other employees who perform essentially the same work and/or student workers. Organizes, sets priorities, schedules and reviews work, but is generally not responsible for final decisions in hiring, performance management or compensation.

 

Additional Functions      

  • Creates resources, including Internship Newsletter, programming, and best practice guides related to internships and experiential learning.
  • Works with the Dean’s Office on the Serving the City Internship Program, building new employer connections, and sustaining existing partnerships.
  • Assists the employer relations team with planning and executing career fairs, employer panels, and networking opportunities.
  • Collaborates with faculty, staff, and student organizations to ensure effective employer participation in recruitment events and initiatives.
  • Assists students with resume reviews, interview preparation, and professional development opportunities.

 

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience        

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in employer relations, corporate partnerships, or a related field, preferably within a higher education or recruitment setting.
  • Proven experience in building and managing relationships with employers, corporations, and external stakeholders.

 

Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills     

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and networking skills.
  • Knowledge of labor market trends, recruitment strategies, and employer needs across industries.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organizational and event planning skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and experience with career management platforms (e.g., Handshake) preferred.
  • Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree in Business, Higher Education, or a related field preferred

 

Minimum Starting Salary: $65,000

 

Maximum Starting Salary: $75,000

 

Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
