Position Title
Administrative Assistant II, Financial Aid

Job Duties
This position is the first point of contact representing the Financial Aid Office and is responsible for delivering excellent customer service and management of the front office.

Working hours are 10am -7pm Monday and 8am – 5pm Tuesday – Friday.
During peak enrollment 10am-7pm Mon-Thurs and 8am – 5pm Friday.

Qualifications

 

Required knowledge and skills

A. Superior customer service and organizational skills.
B. Ability to remain calm, empathetic, and professional in stressful situations.
C. Ability to work and counsel effectively with various types of students and families.
D. Ability to work effectively with personnel from federal, state and local agencies, and lending institutions.
E. Ability to read and interpret federal regulations and apply to institutional procedures.
F. Ability to supervise and apply personnel policy as outlined by the college.
G. Clerical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
H. Must have good written and oral communication skills.
I. This position requires access to federal aid databases and therefore cannot be in default or owe an overpayment in any Title IV Federal Financial Aid program.


Required experience

A. Customer Service experience required.
B. Experience in an office setting strongly preferred.
B. Experience in Microsoft Office preferred.
C. Knowledge/experience in the field of financial aid highly preferred, but not required.


Required educational background

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
